    In the past, determining the cost of construction was a matter of experience and estimation. This is not satisfying for an investor with a finance background who would prefer an exact figure for the cost to construct a building. The problem is not that the engineer, architect, or the contractor could not provide an exact figure. Instead, during the construction, any number of variables can change, altering the validity of the initial cost projection
