I finally finished this book!!! Myth reading was improved since the first half took me about 4 moths while the second half took me less than 15 days!!!

Most of the stories deal with Death and Sorrow, is also a very religious book.
I’m so use to ‘happy endings’ with fairy tales that was, for my surprise, not the case with most of the stories. The fact that is more realistic with the idea of death and how to deal with it made me get more engaged than I expected.
It has a lot of fantasy elements but not in the way of ‘finding a godmother with a magic wand that can change the life of the characters’.
The book is perfect for fall/winter! I got to say is very atmospheric.

I like most of the stories, I didn’t understand a few and I was really disappointed with ‘Snow Queen’ (I have to say it!!!). Overall a great book to read.
    My rating is 5/5

I really like this book! It had many fairytales in one story. My favourite was ugly duckling!

"What is the matter with you?" he asked her.

"Well, the matter with me is," she said, "that I cannot collect my thoughts, and am unable to grasp the meaning of what you said to-day in church—that there are so many wicked people, and that they should burn eternally. Alas! eternally—how long! I am only a woman and a sinner before God, but I should not have the heart to let even the worst sinner burn for ever, and how could our Lord to do so, who is so infinitely good, and who knows how the wickedness comes from without and within? No, I am unable to imagine that, although you say so."

"I don't want to be disgusted," he said to himself, "and yet I can't help it." Soon after, he fell down upon an extensive lawn, and for a time pretended to sleep, but at last fell asleep in earnest. Suddenly a heavy shower of rain came falling from the clouds. The beetle woke up with the noise and would have been glad to creep into the earth for shelter, but he could not. He was tumbled over and over with the rain, sometimes swimming on his stomach and sometimes on his back; and as for flying, that was out of the question. He began to doubt whether he should escape with his life, so he remained, quietly lying where he was. After a while the weather cleared up a little, and the beetle was able to rub the water from his eyes, and look about him. He saw something gleaming, and he managed to make his way up to it. It was linen which had been laid to bleach on the grass. He crept into a fold of the damp linen, which certainly was not so comfortable a place to lie in as the warm stable, but there was nothing better, so he remained lying there for a whole day and night, and the rain kept on all the time. Towards morning he crept out of his hiding-place, feeling in a very bad temper with the climate. Two frogs were sitting on the linen, and their bright eyes actually glistened with pleasure.

"Wonderful weather this," cried one of them, "and so refreshing. This linen holds the water together so beautifully, that my hind legs quiver as if I were going to swim."

shoes, has any idea of flying, excepting myself. To have wings and fly! why, I can do that already;" and so saying, he spread his wings and flew away.
