In the sunny heart of Alabama, Samuel the Lion lives a life of luxury and leisure with his human companions. With his grand mane and regal presence, he’s used to being the king of his domain—until his routine is suddenly turned upside down by a mysterious food thief. After a few failed attempts to catch the culprit, Samuel discovers the unexpected intruder is Dylan, a clever and mischievous hyena with a twinkle in his eye and a secret in his heart.

What follows is a heartwarming and humorous adventure that teaches Samuel—and young readers—a valuable lesson about compassion, generosity, and the meaning of true friendship. As Samuel learns about Dylan’s struggles and the family he’s trying to feed, his heart softens, and he makes a decision that changes everything. In a beautiful act of kindness, Samuel shares what he has and even builds a home for Dylan’s family near his own, proving that even the most unlikely of friendships can bloom when kindness leads the way.
