The magnetic call of majestic Alaska tugged at Weishampel's heart from the time she learned that the Alaska Highway was built in the year of her birth. At age 60, she accomplished her life-long dream of driving the Alaska Highway to Alaska, where she volunteered for the summer. Many follow up trips have led her to further explore the last frontier. Weishampel, a retired educator, is the single parent of 2 biological and 10 adopted adult children. She is the author of several non-fiction books and is currently working on a sequel to A Venture in Faith; Texas to Alaska. When not RVing with her collie and cat, she calls Texas home."
