Nancy Tucker

Nancy Tucker is a British writer and trainee clinical psychologist. She authored two nonfiction books and one fiction novel. Her debut book, The Time In Between (2015), the memoir of her childhood, explored her struggle with anorexia and bulimia nervosa.

Nancy Tucker graduated from the University of Oxford with a degree in experimental psychology. She continues to work in the mental health field in England.

Nancy suffered from anorexia and bulimia in her teens. Her powerful memoir of those dark days, The Time In Between: A Memoir of Hunger and Hope, was published when she was only 21.

Tucker says her mental health has improved significantly but adds: “Even though I’ve written two books on the subject, I find it hard to talk about.”

Her first novel, The First Day Of Spring, came out in May 2021. This psychological thriller tells the story of eight-year-old Chrissie, who confesses to killing a boy. The act gives her a sense of power and control that she lacks in her difficult home life.

Nancy Tucker lives in Oxford and London.
