Andrew Neiderman

Andrew Neiderman is a best-selling American novelist. He is the author of over 44 thrillers, including six of which have been adapted into films, including the big hit, The Devil's Advocate (1997), a story in which he also wrote a libretto for the music-stage adaptation.

Andrew Neiderman was born in Brooklyn. His family moved to the Catskills of New York when he was an infant. He received his Master's in English from the State University of Albany.

Neiderman taught at Fallsburg High School for 23 years before leaving to pursue a career as a novelist and screenwriter. As a teacher, he served as department chairman, faculty president, county teachers association president, director of dramatics, and wrestling coach.

In addition to his own 46 publications, Neiderman is the author of more than 115 published novels under the name W.C. Andrews, seven of which have been adapted into films.

He has co-authored the script for Duplicates (1994) and written the screenplay for Rain by V.C. Andrews (2000), which featured Academy Award winner Faye Dunaway and nominee Robert Loggia.

Since Neiderman began his V.C. Andrews authorship, the franchise has gone from just under 30 million books worldwide to just over 106 million.

V.C. Andrews has been published independently in 95 countries and translated into 24 languages. The international scope of the franchise continues to this day with publications through the 45 UK countries, Netherlands and Germany, among others.

Andrew Neiderman lives with his family in California.
