Clár Ní Chonghaile

Clar Ni Chonghaile is a British author and journalist. Clár is also a communications consultant, training and mentoring journalists and NGO staff. Her debut novel, Fractured, was published by Legend Press in 2016.

Clár Ní Chonghaile was born in London but grew up in An Spidéal, County Galway. She left Ireland aged 19 to join Reuters in London as a graduate trainee journalist.

Chonghaile has worked as a journalist and editor for 25 years, mainly in Europe and Africa. She has worked for Reuters, the Associated Press, and the Guardian. Clár lived in Spain, France, the Ivory Coast, Senegal, and Kenya.

While living in Kenya, she also spent five months as a public information officer for the World Food Programme.

Clár Ní Chonghaile authored three novels: Fractured (2016), Rain Falls on Everyone (2017), and The Reckoning (2018).

Clár Ní Chonghaile now writes for The New European and lives in St Albans, England, with her husband and two daughters.
