Adam must analyze an artefact for his company. He finds video-footage of an alien culture on this artefact and sends the footage to his company to show the advanced civilization that humanity may learn from and improve technology.
His company then trashes him for being a fraud, for having delivered a hoax video.
Adam then must fight hard through a court trial to get his reputation and his job back.
